Prices and Ordering Information

Each of these workbooks helps students to learn the fundamental problem-solving skills needed for success in mastering math problems like those seen on the New York City Mathematics Test. The workbooks are filled with guided instruction covering individual problem-solving skills.

  • Students will learn to think critically and to devise strategies for tackling math problems. Gaining competency in these tasks will enhance both students’ in-class and test performance.
  • Each individual skill is clearly described and explained in understandable straightforward language.
  • The problems for which each skill is best suited are described and explained, giving students advice on when to employ each skill.
  • A guided sample problem demonstrates step-by-step use of each skill, including techniques students can use to check their own work.
  • Each skill section includes about two dozen practice problems, providing a valuable tool for teachers’ assessment needs.

Teacher editions show correct and suggested answers for each of the questions asked, as well as the targeted skill for those questions.

The material in these workbooks is identical to that found in the remediation Mathematics Problem Solving workbooks.
